Much like Storm Claudia hit the north-west the night before, City blew Manchester United aside at the their home ground. It was a convincing three-nil triumph for their manager's side thanks to goals from Rebecca Knaak, Shaw and Lauren Hemp. It was a result that firmly established their championship potential as they strengthened their position at the WSL pinnacle.

Consecutive Losses for United

This scoreline signalled consecutive Women's Super League losses for the United manager's side for the initial occasion since May 2024, leaving them a sizable gap off the top team with their title hopes in serious doubt.

United’s ability to manage domestic and European football with a small team has been a frequently analyzed topic since they earned a place in the UCL. Considering the calendar, it always seemed this was the week that would truly test this fortitude.
