"I tell my centre-back 'I'm not hanging back' and that I'm just going to continue attacking.

"The movement is what I'm seeking. It's good fun."

In addition to the forward's 6 goals on his first game, Stephen Ireland has scored 8 in 3 games for Wythenshawe, while Boyd scored five on his first appearance and Lescott, a centre-half by trade, scored a hat-trick in one game up front.

One opponent, 38, who plays on the flank for the opposition, faced former Latics defender Figueroa on the weekend - and had to explain his nine-year-old son who Heskey was.

"I think I was a little awestruck facing him to be honest.
